The person mentioned there was webbing freighter in trouble. It is a technique which is used to try to get away from the gank as well as in general transportation to speed it up, as it cuts the alignment time to zero. It is technically a hostile action and as such makes the webber appear on killboard as aggressor. You can read more about webbing at various resources on the eve net.
